The Domino Effect in Education

domino

Domino is a game played with squares that can be stacked on end in long lines. When one domino is tipped over it causes the next to fall and so on, creating complex patterns. While the domino effect is usually associated with games, it is also a metaphor for the impact of small actions on larger outcomes.

The concept is relevant for student learning, especially for students with learning differences. Often, these students compensate for their challenges by developing strategies that allow them to progress through a lesson without struggling. However, these strategies have a negative impact on their ability to develop the core skills they need for success. The result is a “domino” effect as the student’s compensation skills become more and more complicated, until the student becomes cognitively overloaded and the basic skill falls over.

While the company struggled, Domino’s remained focused on its core values. One of those was “Champion Our Customers,” and Brandon knew that he had to listen to what customers were telling him. This led to changes that included a relaxed dress code and new leadership training programs. The company also spoke directly with employees to find out what was needed.

The new strategy paid off. Domino’s sales increased by 30 quarters, and the company’s stock is now worth nearly $17 billion. This is despite the fact that the chain still has a relatively small market share in the United States.

This is due in part to the chain’s focus on international growth, which it plans to continue. The company also has a strong emphasis on innovation and a digital platform that allows customers to track their orders, make payments and more.

Domino’s luck powers are unconsciously controlled and only work when she participates in an action whose chance of success is affected. For example, if she throws a dart at a target it will hit, but if she just stands there and stares at the target it won’t happen. This is why she had such a volatile run in with the X-Men when she was possessed by Aentaros, one of the Undying and attempted to kill Randall Shire. Fortunately, Cable was able to immobilize her and defeat Aentaros and the Undying.

Later, Domino joined the X-Force team and came into conflict with Donald Pierce and Lady Deathstrike who had captured Milo Thurman and were trying to download his mind into a computer. Domino stopped them, but the process nearly cost her her own life. In the aftermath, she was captured by a Prime Sentinel called Ekaterina Gryaznova and implanted with a neural blocker that interferes with her synaptic relays. This effectively shorts out her power and coordination, making her unable to use her ability. She rejoined X-Force after her recovery. Her real name is Neena Thurman.
